Fun Wedding Music Activities

Music has a vital role to play in every wedding similar to food and drink. Any wedding without music will be insipid and dull. Hence anything like a fell band live, a string quartet, DJ’s tunes or recorded music from a boom box can be included.

It should not be mistaken that music is just for dancing only. Activities galore are possible and can be planned around music to add an element of fun to your wedding.

Musical chairs, a fun kid’s game can bring surely fun and entertainment and does not intend to insult the guests in any way. Chairs can be brought from the tables or even the floor can serve as chair. Guests might sit on the floor and get up and down again. Another fun option is to use the men as chairs. They kneel on the floor with one knee on the floor and the other bent. The women sit lightly on the men’s knees as they play musical chairs. If the man or woman falls down that couple is out until one couple if left.

A few brides and grooms play musical chairs to give away the table centerpiece which many guests wish to take home. Instead of giving the centerpiece to the person with the number, each table is made to play musical chairs until the person left standing takes the centerpiece home.

“Name that tune” is another rousing game best suited for smaller, intimate wedding where the bride and groom are familiar to all. Prior to the wedding a list of the couple’s favorite song should be collected and a CD created and plays the game “Name that Tune”. Guests are formed in to teams and a mall snippet of each song can be played.

After hearing the first snippet guests should bid that they can name the tune in 10 seconds or 5seconds. After this group the next batch has to name the tune. Everyone is involved in this fun game to the delight of the bride and groom.

Many fun games can be played to get the bride and groom out on to the dancing floor based on the style of the wedding. But for a very large and elegant wedding this will not work out as certain decorum has to be maintained. These games can be fun for a casual, family centered wedding.

If the guests want to call out the bride and groom on to the dancing floor, they should themselves come to the dancing floor first and hula hoop or do their own version of a break dance. The guests should perform to get the couple kiss. This is another way to get the guests involved and have fun and bring wedding memories for the bride and groom.
