Bridal Bouquet Activities

A bride’s order for a bouquet seemingly has no other activity emanating from it except for the bride herself. But the bridal bouquet can give rise to many meaningful and interesting activities.

One of the many possibilities is the traditional aspect of giving the flower both to the mother of the bride and the mother of the groom. The mothers appreciate this gesture and love this activity along with the guests. Why not you change this tradition and supply the flowers not only to the mothers but to the fathers also?

In case this is done, the dad’s flower can be enclosed in a verse for him to read in the ceremony. The flower can also remind the father of the members of the family who have passed so that he can recognize those family members.

If the bride prefers a similar gesture to a unity candle, her bridal bouquet can be designed with many small bouquets put together. At the proper time during the ceremony the bridal bouquet is broken up and share given to many people like the fathers and mothers of the bride and groom.

If the bride wants to have the bridal bouquet and fun also at the reception, a dance involving the bridal bouquet can be organized. Though silly it is fun. The bridal boquet is some where near the dance floor and the guests must guess a flower in the bouquet before they enter the dance floor. It is easy for the first few guests who can identify roses and tulips. But it is difficult for others. It is more difficult the bouquet is of all roses or some other single flower. It can be easy if the bouquet is a traditional mixed bouquet.

The bride mischievously can hide her garter in the bouquet and put it on her leg actually before the groom takes it off. She can also have a couple of break away bouquets wrapped in garter belts so that they are not thrown out. But the small bouquets attached to garter belts are thrown.

A few brides simply pluck one flower from the bouquet and throw the whole thing during the bridal bouquet toss. This is an alternative to having a special bouquet intended for throwing.

One thrown bouquet will not be enough if there are a number of single women at the wedding. One funny option is to have a number of small bouquets bundled into one bouquet. When the time for bouquet toss canes, the bride unfastens the ribbon binding the small bouquets and throws the small bouquets so that many women can catch more than one bouquet.
