Seated Wedding Reception Games

A wedding reception full of seated and bored guests is the worst you can imagine. Probably the wedding has no DJ or rocking music or the crowd did not take part in that whole dancing thing.

There are, however, activities galore to engage and entertain guests and familiarize tham to one another especially the bride and groom better.

One fun game is similar to foot ball. Make a placard for each guest. Write on one side “Bride” and on the other side “groom”. Someone or a DJ or the bet man or the maid of honor puts a series of questions. They might be simple like “who was born in New York city?” or complicated like “who at 6 broke their leg when they were playing with their German shepherd puppy?”

Guests instead of shouting their answer turn their placards to the “bride’s” side or the “groom” side according to their opinion. It is revealing to know the guests of the guests. The true answers are more revealing. It is the fun way to all to know a little more about the bride and groom.

You should cautiously avoid ex-boy and ex-girl friends from answering questions. Don’t forget that grandmas and grandpas and grand children will be present.

If too many persons are present, instead of individual placards, you can create two groups or tams one of men and the other of women. Collectively they can decide on the questions and answer as a group. This concept of “men versus women” is always popular and brings out more fun.

There is silly fun game that is a great hit and puts the groom in the spot light. How well does he know the feel and touch of his new wife? Every one wants, to find out the answer. The wedding party can take part in the games also as many wedding guests as possible.

Line up each participant. Blindfold the groom. Put the bride some where in the mix, send the groom to find the bride. The participants can shake the groom’s hand or kiss his cheek. The groom might feel their hair or their leg.

There can be a fun element which is popular. Let the groom feel the leg of ach participant. The best man or the other male member rolls up his pant leg, puts on a garter and lets the groom feel that. The groom has to kiss whoever he thinks is his bride, when, blindfolded, he often kisses a man.

“Feed Me” is another fun game where the guests are the audience not participants. Here the groom, blindfolded, has to put a piece of food into her mouth after finding her and guided by her helpful words.

After he succeeds in feeding his wife, it is in the turn of the new wife ro go through the same procedure and find him and feed him.

Don’t use anything messy while feeding the bride like a wedding cake or a piece of tread with dip. It is likely that the groom might smear the food on the bride’s face which will spoil the bride’s make up done hours before and she will surely be unhappy about it.
