How to Choose a Scintillating Setting for Your Engagement Ring?

The distinct factors that go to make the choice of engagement ring setting are price, style and life style. The shape of the diamond and the kind of the band are equally important in the selection of the best engagement ring for your paramour. The classic engagement ring setting is simple and elegant. Solitaires, mostly, have a raised prong or claw setting. A different popular solitaire setting is called the pave.

It is also a raised setting with a band of metal around the stone. You can have the flush setting too where the solitaire is embedded in the band.

Solitaire with side stones:

Engagement ring setting will sparkle brilliantly by the addition of some side stones to your solitaire. This will be very good in the absence of a very large solitaire.

An arc of smaller stones on either side or on all the way around the band can be added. Do this by adding the stones in prong settings. For some it may look bulky since they do it manually and do not use rings.

Triple Stone:

Trinity setting or three stone setting is an elegant and elaborate selection. This engagement ring setting has a large centre stone with two slightly smaller stones on either side. This style has many choices.

The two smaller stones can match the type and shape of the centre stones. They can have different gem but the same cut as the centre stone. The type of the gem can match the centre stone but the shape can be different.

Other Engagement Ring Settings:

In many antique rings we have raised gallery settings with intricate filigree designs with elaborate metal work including loops scrolls, flowers and leaves. Vintage rings commonly have a centre stone encircled by milgrain (a kind of metal work similar to tiny beads) or filigree.

The centre stone can be surrounded by small gems. Either you can choose the same type of gem or set off the centre stone with complimentary stones. A new trend is to get a bridal set which is an engagement ring with a matching wedding ring. These two bands are designed to fit together like a puzzle.
